The Machine Intelligence, Neural Design (MIND) team at Apple is looking for a Hardware Engineer to join their efforts in achieving top-notch performance and energy efficiency for neural network applications. This role focuses on HW/SW co-design and the development of low-power hardware accelerators for AI applications. Responsibilities include architecting energy-efficient hardware designs, implementing changes in an in-house simulator, and introducing new features in an in-house compiler.
The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of experience in low-power hardware design, proficiency in Python, a working knowledge of C++, and a strong understanding of computer systems and the interactions between hardware and software. They will collaborate closely with ML experts, benchmark and diagnose performance bottlenecks, and work with partners across various parts of the technology stack.
The position typically requires a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. The base pay for this role ranges from $125,800 to $229,400, with additional benefits, including stock programs, comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, and educational reimbursement.
