Overview

This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single‑configuration, heavy‑lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low‑Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human‑capable.

This role is part of New Glenn Avionics Hardware Solutions Team, supporting Blue Origin’s mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. The team fosters innovation and drives engineering workflows for the future.

Special Mentions
  • This position has flexible schedule options ranging from Wednesday – Saturday and is scheduled for 40 hours with additional weekdays/overtime as requested.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
  • Assembling flight‑grade avionics
  • Assemble test equipment and electronic assemblies
  • Building wire harness/cable assemblies
  • Serve internal and external customers, across multiple systems and multiple platforms.
  • To foster a focus on safety, collaboration and quality allowing us to work together to determine the best path forward, balancing speed and safety to create high quality components that will propel future astronauts and payloads into space for the improvement of humanity.
  • Contribute to lab 5s initiatives and process improvement projects.
  • Set up new production areas with required tooling and equipment.
  • Conduct verifications, inspections and peer reviews of conducted work.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects for safety and efficiency.
  • Integrate avionic instrumentation, printed circuit board assemblies, and harnessing into testers.
  • Build trust, uphold professionalism, and foster an inclusive culture.
  • Carry out additional duties beneficial to mission and vision.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience with ESD prevention and controls
  • Novice understanding of basic electronics theory – voltage, resistance, current
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and written assembly procedures.
  • 2+ years of experience in assembly of avionics, medical devices, or other similar high precision assemblies.
  • Proficient in the use of basic electronic lab test equipment, such as power supplies and handheld multimeters
  • Ability to use standard mechanical tools, precision measuring devices and fabrication shop equipment.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.
  • Basic computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, attention‑to‑detail, and desire for continuous improvement
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current or expired certifications in PCBA inspection (IPC‑A‑610), harness assembly (IPC/WHMA‑A‑620), soldering (J‑STD‑001), PCBA rework (IPC‑7711/7721)
  • Experience handling/installing ESD sensitive components.
  • Experience with hipot and/or Cirris harness testers
  • Experience in staking and conformal coating
  • Experience with potting
  • Experience working in an R&D within space, aviation, automotive or medical fields.
Compensation Range For

WA applicants is $29.91 - $41.87
