We are seeking a Mechanical Test Engineer to design and develop test systems for validating the performance, reliability, and safety of our drones and public safety products. In this role, you will be responsible for creating automated and manual test setups, troubleshooting hardware issues, and ensuring our products meet rigorous quality standards. You will evaluate mechanical aspects of our products throughout the product development cycle and provide design feedback to the design team .
You will collaborate closely with hardware, firmware, and software teams to develop test procedures and improve product designs based on test results.
Design and develop test hardware setups, fixtures, and automated test systems for mechanical drone components, subsystems and full drones
Define and execute test plans to validate mechanical drone components, subsystems and fully integrated drones throughout all stages of product development
Develop and maintain complex mechanical test fixtures
Troubleshoot and diagnose hardware issues, providing recommendations for design improvements.
Conduct environmental and stress testing to ensure product durability in real‑world conditions.
Work with engineering teams to refine designs based on test results and failure analysis.
Maintain detailed documentation of test procedures, results, and issue resolutions.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field or relevant experience
1‑2+ years of experience in testing, preferably in UAVs, robotics, or consumer electronics.
Comfortable with taking ambiguous requirements and turning them into real world designs
Proficiency with equipment such as force testers, dimensional testers, etc
Experience with automated test development using Python, LabVIEW, or similar tools.
Strong troubleshooting skills for electromechanical systems.
Experience with Design Verification, Reliability and Manufacturing Testing
Experience with Python for test automation and data analysis
Experience with optics
Experience with statistical data analysis of test results and test qualification
