This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond.Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.
As part of a passionate and accomplished team, you will be working at the intersection of program management, engineering, integrated supply chain, finance and quality organizations, improving team effectiveness and coordination, and ensuring that the right people are working together to solve problems and deliver results on time.
You willa part of theNew Glenn Stage 2
Tanks & Structure steam, anddirectly support all aspects of project management to include cost, schedule, technical design, risk & opportunity, change management, and coordination with manufacturing. You will use your management skills to identify, propose, and execute process improvements initiatives to efficiently fulfill New Glenn Stage 2 objectives.
You will use your project management and engineering skills to organizeschedulesand program plans to ensure development, qualification, and production hardware is delivered and support the New Glenn build flow. You will use your technical background to understand and effectively communicate with Blue Origin program engineeringandoperationsorganizations. You will be accountable for planning, executing, and monitoring projects according to strict deadlines as well as integrating with the overall vehicle programs.
You will present status, risks & opportunities, variances, and recovery plans to engineering and program management.
You will manage the coordination of demand, prioritization, andtimelyexecution of the Tanks & Structures hardware builds in concert with multifunctional teams across the country. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positivelyimpactsafe human spaceflight. This position will directlyimpactthe history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.
This assignment requires attention to detail, highly developed communication skills, execution with urgency, and the ability to work under minimal direction.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Define program operations and production strategies to meet program performance and production objectives
Drive operations and production strategies through implementation through assignment of projects and tasks, funding and budget tracking, and integration with key stakeholders
Act as the functional lead in all aspects of strategic technical projects and tasks
Effectively collaborate with the supporting functions to maintain project schedules
Perform and lead others in the execution and facilitation of specific project plans, managing risks, tracking, reporting on status, and resolving blocking issues
Work independently toward long-range objectives without appreciable direction and determine the technical objectives of assignments to develop approaches to solutions
Apply program management principles in the development of executable plans and implementation of creative solutions to complex problem
Qualifications:
- Passion for Blue Origin's mission:
Millions of people living and working in space! - B.S./B.A. degree in engineering, manufacturing, or another technical field
- 3+ years of relevant professional experience, preferably with aerospace hardware or complex technical systems. Candidates with various levels of experience are welcome to apply
- Possess high attention to detail and strong organizational/coordination skills
- Strong knack for troubleshooting and quick thinking to keep the project moving forward
- Demonstrated ability to build trusting and effective working relationships that improve team performance and deliver results
- Working knowledge of configuration management principles and practices
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Desired:
Experience with launch vehicle development, production, and operations
Experience with Primavera (P6), CREO, Windchill
Working familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Tableau, and data analytics
Experience across multiple portions of the product life cycle
Program Management Professional (PMP) certification
MBA or M.S. in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or systems engineering
