This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond.Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.
In this role you will lead test teams in the planning and execution of large multi-actuator static structural qualification tests in support of New Glenn validation and verification efforts. You will lead and coordinate the development of all necessary engineering artifacts, GSE and tooling setups and design, and test execution procedures; oversee and coordinate all necessary test setup and instrumentation activities;
and lead test execution on the day of test. This is a hands-on test engineering and project management position to ensure all requisite test objectives are met in support of the qualification of the major systems and components of the New Glenn vehicle.

Primary Responsibilities:
Lead all technical test planning efforts for specified test campaigns. Coordinate, develop and/or oversee generation of all required engineering documentation, analysis, test setups, GSE and hardware, and test execution procedures across multiple teams, stakeholders and customers.
Act as Test Director on day of test, leading the test team and supporting personnel, customers, etc. in all test activities to successful completion of specified test objectives.
Assist in project management, helping to develop and maintain budget and schedule of all test-related activities for a given test campaign.
Coordinate and oversee all test setup, instrumentation, and GSE assembly activities.
Lead interim and Test Readiness Reviews; lead regular test planning coordination meetings for all necessary test stakeholders
Support system and design responsible engineers in devising and documenting validation and verification plan(s), loads analyses, and related activities in support of the New Glenn vehicle and systems
Assist in post-test data reduction, analysis, reviews, and documentation as necessary
Lead daily test standups and operations on day of test, operate test consoles and data collection systems, and direct technician work and coordinate with internal customers
Lead or assist in: test troubleshooting activities, performing root cause analysis and failure investigations, and developing system hazard analysis
Ensure work is completed in accordance with Blue policies and procedures
Demonstrate high standards in test operations and work cooperatively with a dynamic team of Integration Engineers, Responsible Engineers and Blue customers to ensure requirements are met
Actively model Blue Leadership Principles
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, or similar engineering from an accredited college
5+ years direct experience in the design, development, and execution of mechanical, static, dynamic, or fluidic testing
Working knowledge of a variety of mechanical and hydraulic systems and related equipment
Familiarity with the setup and operation of test instrumentation and Data Acquisition and Control systems
Strong ability and desire to understand complex systems, investigate and solve challenging problems, and work in a dynamic environment
Have a detailed-oriented and safety mindset
Work well under pressure and takes initiative to improve existing systems, processes, and documentation
Strong Project Management, individual, and team leadership skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience performing static structural testing for space launch vehicles or similar aerospace vehicles
Understands/experience with hazardous operations and design for system safety
Experience in the design, development, and implementation of GSE, test equipment, and tooling
Experience with component qualification and certification in aerospace industry
Experience with 3D CAD tools and data lifecycle management (Windchill / Creo)
Knowledge of systems engineering practices, fabrication and integration processes, and quality control
