Job Summary
This pivotal role offers the opportunity to oversee all phases of major maritime projects, from planning through post-project review, ensuring delivery excellence in a dynamic and growing organization. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in ship construction, vessel systems, and maritime operations, coupled with strong leadership capabilities to manage multidisciplinary teams and stakeholder relationships effectively.
Responsibilities- Define project scope, objectives, requirements, and budgets to align with organizational goals.
- Oversee project execution, ensuring adherence to contractual commitments, schedules, and budgets.
- Monitor financial performance, project timelines, and forecasting to maintain project health.
- Provide comprehensive reports and updates to executive leadership.
- Negotiate contracts and change orders within authorized limits to optimize project outcomes.
- Manage relationships with shipyards, vendors, and service providers to facilitate smooth project execution.
- Offer technical oversight in collaboration with engineering and vessel management teams.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead and develop project teams, including project managers, engineers, and administrative staff.
- Implement continuous improvement practices and conduct post-project reviews for future enhancements.
- Support estimation, feasibility assessments, and vessel acquisition or refit initiatives.
- Travel as necessary to shipyards and project sites to oversee operations and ensure project success.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in maritime or related fields.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant maritime experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
- Extensive background in managing ship construction, vessel systems, and maritime operations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage project costs, schedules, and performance metrics effectively.
- Proficiency with project documentation, tracking systems, MS Office, and AutoCAD (preferred).
- Ability to travel 30–50% and access shipyards and vessels, including climbing ladders and working in confined spaces.
