This role sits at the heart of building technology that makes checkout‑free shopping possible. You’ll take ownership of RFID/RF hardware systems from early concept through production, solving complex challenges around accuracy, reliability, and real‑world performance.
Your work directly influences how seamlessly the technology works. You’ll partner closely with hardware, software, and data teams to define system requirements, design architectures, and validate performance. Along the way, you’ll run experiments, troubleshoot issues, and generate the high‑quality data needed to improve system intelligence.
Key job responsibilities- Lead design, integration, and validation of RFID/RF hardware systems across the full product lifecycle (concept to production).
- Define system requirements, architecture, and performance targets in collaboration with cross‑functional teams.
- Develop and execute test plans and data collection protocols.
- Conduct RF performance testing, system troubleshooting, and real‑world deployment validation.
- Partner across teams to support data collection, model training, and integrated hardware solutions.
- Produce clear technical documentation for designs, testing, and operations.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in RF and hardware systems design, integration, validation, and deployment.
- Hands‑on experience with RFID systems, antennas, RF testing, and hardware optimization.
- Familiarity with hardware system integration, signal integrity, and RF subsystem troubleshooting.
- Strong technical communication skills, including documentation and presentation to cross‑functional stakeholders.
- MS or PhD in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Strong understanding of the RF fundamentals including Electromagnetic theory, wave propagation, and antenna application.
- Experience with RF test instruments (spectrum analyzers, VNAs, signal generators) and ability to interpret measurement data for system characterization.
- Knowledge of wireless communication protocols and standards (e.g., UHF RFID, NFC, WiFi).
- Experience with network design or IoT hardware systems.
