Overview
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on challenging problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain, and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.
Power & Cooling (PAC) team is seeking a results-oriented individual with strong business judgment and experience working with internal and external stakeholders to own material planning for Data Center Power & Cooling Equipment. Material Planning Managers are high-energy self-starters who work across different functions to deliver power and cooling equipment to AWS data centers globally. As a member of the Power and Cooling Supply Chain Management Team, this role’s primary responsibility is to maintain unconstrained supply for the responsible regions and collaborate with internal customers and business partners to audit and track inventory from design to delivery.
You will be the single-threaded leader and first line of escalation for post-delivery construction and commissioning issues.
You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate across AWS to deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing capacity at the lowest possible cost, and you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own projects through completion.

- Demand Planning and Forecasting - Develop and maintain a rolling three-year forecast for LLE, collaborating with business partners to capture evolving requirements. Manage schedule changes, track design modifications, and validate net new demand to maintain forecast accuracy. Coordinate with design teams to ensure equipment specifications align with construction timelines and maintain a change management process for first-time-right implementations.
- Milestone Management and Progress Tracking - As the single-threaded owner of milestone tracking, monitor the critical path from forecast creation through design, funding, delivery, and commissioning. Enable proactive identification of delays with a goal of 100% milestone achievement. Escalate risks and select mitigation strategies as needed to protect construction schedules.
- Risk Management and Prioritization - Track supplier delivery commitments against construction need-by dates, acting as an early warning system for schedule impacts. Partner with Global Supply Chain Managers for supplier negotiations and lead build prioritization decisions with a dynamic risk register to predict and prevent delays.
- Post-Delivery Support and Issue Resolution - Serve as the primary escalation point for post-delivery challenges at construction sites, including quality concerns and resource constraints. Build trusted relationships with suppliers and hold war rooms to resolve critical issues promptly.
- Impact and Measurement - Success in this role directly affects AWS’s ability to deliver data centers on schedule, with performance measured by construction timelines and successful equipment installation. Maintain forecast accuracy, milestone tracking, and risk mitigation rather than sole supplier negotiations and capacity management.
