Civil Engineer (Mid‑Senior Level)
Full Time
• Seattle, WA
- You will work as part of a cross‑office, cross‑discipline team of designers (landscape architects, architects, and civil engineers) and urban planners that provides services and consultation in civil engineering, utility infrastructure planning and design; site infrastructure planning and design; stormwater and GIS/LID; streets and mobility for public and private clients across the U.S.
- You will collaborate to create innovative civil engineering design solutions; assist with preparation of plans, technical reports, construction specifications documents; prepare calculations, quantity take‑offs, and construction cost estimates; complete stormwater modeling and design; provide construction administration support; and work closely with entry/junior‑level staff.
- Typical projects include enhancing mobility in the public right‑of‑way; creating passive and active play areas in newly designed parks; and working closely with the architecture team providing grading and utility plans for affordable housing and public facilities buildings.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineer licensure in any state (California or multiple states is a plus).
- At least seven (7) years of relevant experience.
- Willingness and ability to travel to project sites locally and in various states.
- Familiarity with Department of Ecology Stormwater Management Manual for Western Washington.
- Experience with preparing plans, specifications, estimates of probable costs, and technical information reports.
- Excellent communication skills (clear, collaborative, productive written and verbal).
- Adaptability; willingness to pitch in, train, and help others.
- Software proficiency:
AutoCAD/Civil 3D, stormwater modeling (WWHM, MGSFlood, etc.), Word and Excel. Experience with Micro Station/Open Roads is a plus.
The base salary is competitive and based on experience, location, education, and skills. The expected range for a qualified candidate with 7-14 years of experience is $100,000-$150,000. Discretionary performance‑based bonuses are also offered.
