Role Description
Arcadis is seeking a Project Ecologist/Planner to join our Energy Transition team supporting environmental permitting and planning projects across renewable energies, linear utilities, oil & gas, and rail in Washington and Oregon. The role requires technical and task management support for Clean Water Act, NEPA, federal and state permitting, and coordination with regulatory agencies and clients. The candidate will manage schedules, estimates, and deliverables, and contribute to business development when appropriate.
RoleAccountabilities
• Work with biologists, cultural resource specialists, planners, engineers and other technical specialists to execute environmental permitting projects.
• Lead preparation of permit applications, coordinate with regulatory agencies and clients, and manage project construction and permit closeout.
• Support new and existing client relationships, participate in proposal development, scope and cost estimation.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, biology, ecology or a related discipline
- 6+ years of relevant experience managing environmental permitting projects in the western U.S., preferably within environmental consulting
- Task management experience, schedule-driven, with estimating and cost delivery for environmental planning projects
- Development of permit applications and permitting strategy in the Pacific Northwest, including experience with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service; NEPA experience preferred
- Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with resource specialists to develop environmental documents
- Familiarity with field-related project components such as wetland delineations, habitat reviews, construction oversight, stormwater compliance and related tasks
Pacific Northwest region (Washington and Oregon). Hybrid work structure; remote and office as needed. Periodic travel 15–25%.
CompensationSalary range: $102,120 – $153,180.
