Position: Lead Technologist/ Project Manager – Energy Solutions Advisory

About the Role

Lead Technologist/ Project Manager – Energy Solutions Advisory. The energy space is undergoing rapid change and Jacobs is expanding its Energy & Power team to help clients navigate the complexities of deploying reliable and sustainable energy solutions across multiple end markets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead internal Jacobs teams and external subconsultants/contractors.
  • Collaborate with clients to solve energy challenges focused on speed to market, reliability and sustainability.
  • Work with technical leadership, client account managers and sales professionals on high-importance pursuits.
  • Manage client relationships, ensuring expectations are understood and met, and resolve any client concerns.
  • Oversee projects to minimize risk, maintain budget, schedule, scope and quality, identifying and mitigating risks.
  • Identify, develop and pursue business opportunities with existing or new clients.
  • Support operational and business‑development teams with proposals and other materials for new business opportunities.

  • District Energy Systems
  • Renewable energy and storage solutions

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
  • At least 8 years of design, consulting or project development experience.
  • Proven ability to engage clients, develop relationships, win work and deliver innovative solutions.
  • Experience with multi‑disciplinary project delivery teams.
  • Strong presentation, communication and technical writing skills.
  • Comfortable working independently and leading cross‑functional teams with owners, engineers and contractors.
Desired Knowledge and Experience
  • Experience in at least three of the following categories: energy master planning, feasibility studies, data center power, district energy systems, renewable energy and storage, thermal power.
  • Direct experience in delivering projects within these areas.
  • Understanding of new and emerging energy technologies.
  • Experience in owner’s engineer or advisory roles.
  • Strategic project development experience.
Additional Highly Regarded Qualifications
  • Professional registration.
  • Experience with:
    • Thermal utility plants and distribution systems (steam, hot water, chilled water)
    • Utility master planning or decarbonization/climate response planning
    • Cogeneration or combined heat and power systems
    • Microgrid and other distributed energy resources systems
    • Data center or mission‑critical loads
    • Renewable energy projects
    • Complex energy system modeling
Location & Work Arrangement

This role can be filled remotely, in an office or in a hybrid capacity.
