Residential Structural Designer — Wood-Frame Focus

Position Overview

We are looking for a Structural Engineer with strong technical capabilities and a solid understanding of residential structural systems. The ideal candidate should be capable of independently producing structural drawing sets for single-family residential projects and coordinating effectively with architectural and consultant teams throughout the design and permitting process.

• Prepare structural calculations and drawing sets for residential projects, including single-family homes, additions, and small-scale developments
• Independently develop permit-ready structural drawings
• Coordinate with architectural and consultant teams throughout project development
• Review project requirements, applicable codes, and jurisdictional standards
• Participate in design development and technical problem-solving
• Maintain drawing quality, technical consistency, and project efficiency

• 1–3 years of professional experience in structural engineering
• Experience with wood-frame residential structures preferred
• Ability to independently complete structural drawings for residential projects
• Familiarity with U.S. building codes and residential structural systems
• EIT certification preferred; PE or SE license is highly preferred
• Strong communication and coordination skills
• Ability to work in a collaborative and fast-paced professional environment
