Position Overview
Position Type: Full-Time Contract
Duration: 12 months
Location: Seattle, WA
As a Technical Designer
, you will develop and maintain engineering product definitions for systems laboratory test requirements and instrumentation across commercial and military programs. The team prepares design layouts, modifies existing designs, develops statements of work (including design requirements, cost, and schedule estimates), coordinates and develops work-transfer packages, and contributes to the integration of product definition across internal and external partners. You will investigate and resolve moderately complex manufacturing process or engineering related issues and verify the accuracy of engineering data produced by others.
- Participate on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to integrate technical solutions across multiple disciplines.
- Support Preliminary Design Review (PDRs) and Critical Design Reviews (CDRs) meetings.
- Coordinate with design, manufacturing, and fabrication teams.
- Manage drafting requirements and incorporate drawing changes to support business goals.
- Support the development, maintenance, or modification of systems, components, and installation designs to meet requirements and specifications.
- Review design requirements and modifications of Mechanical & Structural assemblies and installations.
- Review Configuration Management Requirements for compliance prior to releasing lab test drawings.
- Work among cross‑functional teams.
- More than 2 years of experience with engineering and design software (CAD/3D packages such as CATIA, Solid Works, or CREO).
- More than 3 years of experience in conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design including 2D drawings and 3D deliverables.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and a strong desire to collaborate with technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Experience in Test and Evaluation Engineering.
Pay Range: Between $40 to $45 per hour (based on education, experience, location, job duties, certifications, etc.)
