Basic Job FunctionsProduce precise 3D BIM models and detailing outputs that support constructability, fabrication, and efficient project execution.
Detail semi‑complex projects with supervision while producing accurate 3D BIM models and rebar shop drawings. Provide concise, accurate, and complete descriptions of all rebar, mesh wire, and related concrete reinforcing products for fabrication, delivery, installation, and invoicing in the most efficient manner possible.
Support efficiencies for downstream teams and partners, cultivating a customer‑focused reputation while maximizing profits for Nucor Rebar Fabrication.
Key Responsibilities- Create 3D BIM models and rebar shop drawings and coordinate deliveries of all contracted materials.
- Build on basic knowledge of rebar and concrete reinforcing products and how those translate into accurate 3D models and placing/fabrication outputs.
- Understand and use industry standards such as CRSI & ACI.
- Review and understand drawings, dates, specifications, addenda, and other contractual information; incorporate updates into drawings/models accurately.
- Represent Nucor Rebar Fabrication and liaise between sales, estimating, placer, contractor, fabrication team, and all design disciplines to support coordination and model/drawing accuracy.
- Pre‑plan projects for critical path, scope, and schedules (including detailing/modeling milestones).
- Review all document/model changes, generate change orders, and support the change order approval process.
- Engage when design/construction conflicts arise and provide timely, cost‑effective resolutions; support constructability by identifying coordination issues within drawings/models.
- Support BIM workflows and model accuracy; participate in clash/coordination processes as required for constructability and placement.
- Perform other duties as required by your supervisor.

Minimum Requirements- Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
- Ability to read technical drawings.
- One year experience as a rebar detailer using CAD and Windows‑based software.
- Working experience creating and/or coordinating 3D models in BIM software (Tekla or similar).

- Attention to Detail – Thorough in accomplishing tasks, no matter how small, and takes care to meet expectations.
- Customer Service – Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer services and the ability to adjust approach based on the situation.
- Design – Understanding of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in generation of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
- Mathematics – Comfort with use of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.
- Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work – Developing specific goals and plans for prioritizing, organizing, and accomplishing individual work.
- Time Management – Managing one's own time and/or the time of others.
- Teamwork – Working as part of a coordinated effort with others to achieve a common goal.
- Problem Solving & Judgment/Decision Making – Identifying problems and analyzing information to develop and evaluate options for choosing the most appropriate solution.
- Vocational certificate in CAD design/drafting issued from an accredited school or currently enrolled.
- Effective in verbal and written communication.
- Construction knowledge – concrete related experience particularly helpful.
- Proficiency in Tekla or similar 3D modeling software.
- Working knowledge of ACI codes, CRSI standards, and basic contract concepts as applicable to detailing.
- Familiarity with modular/prefab concepts and how modeling supports fabrication, delivery, and placement.
- Extended hours may be required.

- Physical demands require use of hands, vision & light lifting related to computer equipment.
- This position reports in‑person at the XXXXX location.
- May be asked to complete approximately two hours of assessments as part of the hiring process.
- Occasional travel and job site visits may be required for coordination.
- PPE must be worn when on the worksite (safety shoes, glasses, hard hats, gloves, hearing protection, etc.).
