The Opportunity

We are hiring a Senior Electrical Estimator to support our growing workload of public infrastructure and commercial projects.

This role focuses on delivering accurate, competitive estimates and supporting a consistent, process-driven estimating approach.

This position offers opportunities for growth and expanded responsibilities over time based on performance and company needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform full-cycle electrical estimates (conceptual through hard bid)
  • Analyze plans, specifications, and bid documents end-to-end
  • Develop complete, accurate, and defensible scopes of work
  • Participate in Go / No-Go process and follow established bid procedures
  • Manage bid timelines, vendor quotes, and submissions
  • Develop bid approach, identify risks, and support value engineering efforts
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, and distributors
  • Participate in post-project Lessons Learned reviews to improve estimating accuracy and processes
  • Coordinate handoff meetings for newly awarded projects with operations/project management teams
Public Works Experience Requirements

Candidates must have direct experience estimating public works projects including Port of Seattle (including Airport), WSDOT, Sound Transit, King County, or similar agencies. Deep understanding of public bid requirements, compliance, and risk is required.

  • Own risk identification, pricing, and bid strategy decisions
  • Interpret contract documents, general conditions, and procurement structures
  • Participate in post-bid analysis (wins/losses, estimate vs actual performance)
  • Integrate feedback from field and operations to improve estimate accuracy
  • Maintain and improve estimating databases, labor units, and systems
  • Serve as a technical resource and contribute to continuous improvement of estimating practices
Business & Performance Accountability
  • Accountable for bid accuracy, completeness, and outcomes
  • Responsible for hit rate and awarded work aligned with company strategy
  • Support Go / No-Go process and contribute to pursuit planning
  • Provide input on estimating performance, trends, and risks to leadership
Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years electrical estimating experience (public works required)
  • Proven experience with Port of Seattle, WSDOT, Sound Transit, King County, or similar agencies
  • Strong proficiency with McCormick and/or Accubid estimating platforms
  • Demonstrated ability to estimate complex electrical infrastructure projects
  • Strong knowledge of NEC, construction methods, and systems
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and documentation skills
Preferred
  • Experience mentoring or supporting junior estimators
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience is a plus
Proven Bid Performance (Required)

Candidates must demonstrate a proven track record of estimating performance, including:

  • Bid hit rate / awarded work conversion (win percentage)
  • Examples of successfully awarded projects
  • Ability to explain estimating decisions, risks, and outcomes

Candidates should provide a project list or bid summary demonstrating these results.
