Associate Wind Tunnel Operations Technician
Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) – Aerodynamic Testing team – Seattle, WA.
This role repairs, maintains, and upgrades test facilities and infrastructure that support Aerodynamic Lab testing activities, primarily the Boeing Propulsion Wind Tunnel (BPWT), with possible support at other local wind tunnels. An ideal candidate has working knowledge of jet turbine maintenance, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.
Position Responsibilities- Project management and engineering support for maintenance and facility upgrade activities, including routine preventative maintenance, repairs, and large‑scale projects
- Coordinate with testing experts and program representatives to ensure facilities meet necessary test requirements
- Coordinate with support organizations and vendors on required maintenance support and infrastructure issues and projects
- Maintain lab process documentation and drawings related to the test facilities and infrastructure
- Maintain or manage spare inventories
- Support development of the capital and expense long‑range business plan (LRBP) inputs related to test facilities requirements
- Staff program testing in the labs as a facility operator, which may include extended or off‑shift times
- Associate’s degree or higher in a related discipline AND at least 1 year of related work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with in aviation maintenance, engineering, or other complex technical fields
- 1+ year of experience operating electrical, mechanical, and/or hydraulic systems
- 1+ year of experience managing daily/monthly craft workload to include reactive service requests as well as planned work and preventive maintenance activities
Summary pay range: $56,950–$77,050.
