Job Overview
DPR Construction is seeking an MEP coordinator with at least eight years of commercial mechanical, electrical, and plumbing construction experience. The role involves the day‑to‑day coordination of all MEP aspects of one or more projects, including fire/life safety, low‑voltage, and fire‑sprinkler systems.
Responsibilities- Provide estimating support, subcontractor bid reviews, scheduling, and project logistics for MEP systems.
- Perform constructability reviews related to MEP systems.
- Support pre‑construction and project teams in reviewing trade partners’ estimates and costs for design changes.
- Review all MEP shop drawings and submittals.
- Assist in developing full commissioning plans, detailing all test requirements, required inspections, factory start‑up of major equipment, factory acceptance testing, project and vendor documentation, and integrated test plans.
- Coordinate MEP systems through the virtual design and construction process.
- Provide on‑site construction support, oversee start‑up, balancing, commissioning, validation certification, owner training, and project closeout for MEP systems.
- Develop and oversee project‑specific MEP quality and safety programs, including safety cause mapping for post‑project MEP incidents.
- Strong grasp of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering concepts and applicable codes.
- Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders and resolve complex MEP design and construction issues.
- Ability to run complex meetings, issue minutes, and follow up promptly for deliverables.
- Good understanding of fire/life safety and fire‑sprinkler systems and their integration with mechanical, electrical, and building systems.
- Good understanding of test and balance processes and requirements.
- Good understanding of building automation systems, sequences, and MEP integrations.
- Good understanding of MEP‑related safety regulations and ability to promote a safety culture in construction.
- Proficiency in current virtual design and construction software.
- Experience with CPM scheduling and lean pull‑planning processes;
Primavera P6 knowledge preferred. - Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office and Bluebeam.
- 5+ years of experience as an MEP coordinator, preferably within DPR’s core markets.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred but not required.
- Strong work ethic and a “can‑do” attitude.
