Job Description & How to Apply Below

Echodyne offers the world’s first compact solid-state true beam‑steering radar for a wide range of industries and applications. Our high‑performance radars work in all weather and are designed for autonomous vehicles, uncrewed aircraft & drones, and security of borders, critical infrastructure, and smart cities. The company combines the patented technology of metamaterials with powerful software to create a radar sensor with unprecedented performance at commercial price points.

Echodyne offers its radars to companies working in Automotive, Transportation, Critical Infrastructure Protection, Border Security, Smart Cities, Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS), and Airspace Management including Urban Air Mobility (UTM).

Echodyne is seeking a Senior Technical Manager, Electrical Engineering to join our fast‑growing team.

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Senior Technical Manager of Electrical Engineering leads Echodyne’s Analog & Mixed Signal (AMS) organization—responsible for architecting, designing, verifying, and sustaining the analog, digital/mixed‑signal, power delivery, clocking, and high‑speed interfaces that form the electrical backbone of Echodyne’s next‑generation radar platforms.

This leader combines deep technical expertise with people leadership, guiding the AMS team through the full hardware lifecycle—from concept and architecture through design, bring‑up, verification, transition to manufacturing, and long‑term sustainment. They will champion engineering excellence, ensure alignment with program and product objectives, and drive continuous improvement across processes, workflows, and design methodologies.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Electrical & RF Engineering, this leader balances technical ownership with organizational leadership, mentoring and developing engineers while remaining hands‑on enough to influence architecture and solve complex cross‑disciplinary challenges.

RESPONSIBILITIES Technical Leadership
  • Lead AMS architecture, schematic development, simulation, layout guidance, bring‑up, and design verification
  • Champion DFX principles (DFM, DFA, DFT, DFQ) and ensure robust transitions to manufacturing
  • Guide team to own AMS subsystem performance across the product lifecycle, including root‑cause investigations and corrective actions
  • Lead trade studies, risk assessments, and design reviews across multiple radar programs
  • Grow, mentor, and lead a multidisciplinary Analog & Mixed Signal engineering team
  • Set technical direction, development goals, and resourcing across programs
  • Foster a culture of rigor, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Serve as the champion for Analog & Mixed Signal collaboration between Systems, RF, FPGA/FW, Mechanical, Dev Ops, Test, Quality, and Manufacturing
  • Align Analog & Mixed Signal work with program priorities, requirements flowdown, and system‑level performance budgets
  • Ensure strong manufacturing test strategies and support production readiness
Process Leadership & Continuous Improvement
  • Improve Analog & Mixed Signal workflows, documentation rigor, verification practices, and design toolchain utilization
  • Support refinement of agile hardware development processes tailored to program needs
REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering (MS preferred)
  • 10 or more years of analog and mixed‑signal circuit design experience, including ownership of complex printed circuit assemblies
  • Prior technical leadership or engineering management experience required
  • Eligibility to handle export‑controlled information (ITAR/EAR)
  • Expertise with power management, clocking, ADC/DAC subsystems, high‑speed digital interfaces, and signal/power integrity
  • Strong hands‑on experience with board bring‑up, debugging, verification, and manufacturing transition
  • Leadership of technical teams or engineering managers
  • Experience delivering multiple hardware products through full lifecycle iterations
DESIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

(Looking for one or more as a complement to the core skills)

  • Experience with radar, high‑performance sensing, or adjacent RF systems
  • Collaboration experience with firmware/FPGA teams on timing, interfaces, and bring‑up
  • Familiarity with Altium, SPICE tools…
