Position OverviewThe Mechanical Aircraft Instructor will play a critical role in supporting maintenance training operations by delivering high-quality technical instruction to aviation maintenance personnel. This individual will be responsible for conducting both classroom-based and hands‑on practical training focused on aircraft mechanical systems, maintenance procedures, structures, safety practices, and regulatory compliance standards.
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in aviation maintenance, along with the ability to effectively communicate complex mechanical concepts to individuals with varying levels of technical experience. This role requires strong leadership, presentation, facilitation, and organizational skills within a fast-paced operational environment.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver instructor‑led technical training covering aircraft systems, structures, maintenance procedures, troubleshooting methodologies, safety protocols, tooling practices, and operational procedures
- Conduct practical hands‑on instruction within maintenance environments to ensure trainees develop real‑world technical competency and operational readiness
- Classroom instruction
- Computer‑Based Training (CBT)
- Coaching and mentoring
- On‑the‑Job Training (OJT)
- Practical demonstrations and technical workshops
- Assess trainee knowledge, practical performance, and technical competency through written evaluations, practical demonstrations, and observation‑based assessments
- Support qualification, certification, recurrent training, and compliance‑related initiatives for maintenance personnel
- Partner closely with maintenance leadership, quality teams, and operational stakeholders to identify training gaps and performance improvement opportunities
- Assist in the development, enhancement, revision, and standardization of training materials, technical manuals, instructional presentations, learning guides, and operational procedures
- Ensure all instructional environments, training aids, tooling, and equipment are fully operational and prepared before training delivery
- Maintain accurate training records, attendance documentation, qualification tracking, evaluation reports, and regulatory compliance documentation
- Promote and reinforce a strong culture of aviation safety, operational excellence, regulatory compliance, technical accuracy, and quality assurance
- Provide mentorship and professional guidance to maintenance personnel while supporting workforce development initiatives
- Extensive hands‑on aviation maintenance experience within commercial aviation, business aviation, MRO environments, or related aerospace operations
- Strong technical knowledge of aircraft mechanical systems, structures, maintenance practices, and aviation safety standards
- Previous experience delivering technical instruction, conducting maintenance training, mentoring technicians, or supporting workforce development initiatives
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively to diverse learning audiences
- Strong interpersonal communication, facilitation, and presentation skills
- High attention to detail with strong organizational and documentation capabilities
- Ability to work within fast‑paced maintenance and operational environments while managing multiple priorities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Flexibility to support operational scheduling needs, including potential first and second shift coverage
- Heavy Structures experience is highly preferred
- Previous technical training or aviation instructional background strongly desired
- Experience supporting FAA‑regulated or compliance‑driven maintenance environments
- Familiarity with aviation learning management systems, training documentation processes, and competency tracking
- Experience facilitating practical maintenance demonstrations and hands‑on technical instruction
- Prior leadership, coaching, or mentorship experience within aviation maintenance teams
