SUMMARY
Mortenson is currently seeking a Senior Commissioning Engineer II that will perform aspects of commissioning assignments which require knowledge and application of basic engineering principles in a construction environment with a focus on successful commissioning. Using prescribed methods, performs specific and portions of commissioning assignments to completion.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Reviewing owner project requirements
- Assist in performing scope reviews
- Assist in developing commissioning specifications
- Assist in creating commissioning plans, checklists, and tests for basic systems
- Performing field visits and observing commissioning inspections and tests
- Develop working relationship with contractors, in the field, and assist in resolving commissioning issues observed during testing
- Assist in writing issue descriptions, field reports and final reports
- Assist in creating Systems Manuals
- Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
- Lead team members by example, offer effective coaching and feedback, and effectively manage performance
- All other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, and/or Electrical Engineering or equivalent field experience
- Minimum five years construction management or commissioning experience, preferably with an MEP Contractor, Commissioning firm
- Detail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasks
- Conceptual knowledge of key construction documents and their relationship to construction Project Management and Field Executions
- Knowledge of how design, construction, start-up, and turnover align within the project delivery process
- Conceptual knowledge of key construction documents and their relationship to Quality Control/Quality Assurance (QA/QC)
- Fundamental knowledge of commissioning processes and commissioning process delivery
- Conceptually relate the construction deliverable to the commissioning deliverable
- Microsoft Office, project, and pertinent web application skills at an intermediate level
- Familiarity with data-based commissioning tools such as BIM
360 - Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback

The base pay range for this role is $107,200 MIN - $160,800 MAX. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%). Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
