A well-established heavy civil general contractor is looking to bring on a Project Engineer to support a growing pipeline of infrastructure projects across the Seattle market.
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to grow within a reputable contractor, gain exposure to large-scale work, and develop into a Project Manager over time.
Responsibilities- Support project management teams with all phases of construction from preconstruction through closeout
- Assist with quantity takeoffs, budgeting, and cost tracking for heavy civil projects
- Prepare and manage submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project documentation
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and field teams to ensure alignment with project scope and schedule
- Review plans and specifications to identify discrepancies and potential constructability issues
- Participate in project meetings and contribute to schedule updates and overall project planning
- Track production, quantities, and progress in coordination with field operations
- Maintain strong communication with owners, engineers, and internal stakeholders
- 1–5 years of experience in heavy civil construction or related field
- Exposure to projects involving earthwork, utilities, roadwork, or site development
- Internship or project engineering experience with a general contractor preferred
- Experience working on public infrastructure or municipal projects is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Strong understanding of construction documents, plans, and specifications
- Familiarity with construction software such as Procore, Bluebeam, or similar platforms
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced project environment
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
