Technical Designer

We are seeking an experienced technical designer to play a key role in the planning, design, development, and delivery of innovative public infrastructure projects. This position will support a wide range of projects, including airports, seaports, light rail systems, wastewater treatment plants, and environmental facilities. Your technical expertise will help shape meaningful projects that serve communities, improve infrastructure, and support long-term public benefit.

We provide engineering, commissioning, construction management and project management services for major public works projects including transit, rail, aviation and wastewater capital improvements facilities. We have a passion for excellence that we have used to successfully build infrastructure in Washington, Colorado, and California for 25 years.

In this role, you will support a variety of public‑sector projects, including the planning and design of systems for light rail stations, parking garages, municipal buildings, and other public facilities. You will work on projects for clients such as Sound Transit, the State of Washington, King County, and cities throughout Washington State, and will be expected to:

• Produce drawings via BIM modeling in the Revit environment
• Produce construction drawings in compliance with client’s:
  • Design requirements
  • Design standards
  • Code requirements
  • CADD and BIM standards
  • Quality procedures
• Coordinate with other designers to produce an integrated design, resolve issues and eliminate clashes
• Make review comments and resolve comments by others in Bluebeam Studio
  • Interdisciplinary design review
  • Quality Control review
• Produce written content for the Basis of Design Report
• Write technical specifications in CSI format
• Prepare and present technical reports, data visualizations, and recommendations to clients and stakeholders
• Engage with public agencies, clients, and subcontractors, maintaining professional and ethical standards

• Strong technical communication skills in English
• Minimum five years’ relevant experience in the A&E design environment

• Ability to be organized, accurate, and timely

• Professional Engineer (PE) License or EIT
• Able to work in Seattle office 3‑4 times per week
