To assist the Director of Engineering in maintaining the entire hotel facility, including the physical building structure, all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems, and related equipment in accordance with energy conservation and preventative maintenance programs. Ensure the upkeep of guest areas to maintain an attractive hotel.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE,

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Translate the Director of Engineering’s strategic priorities into clear, executable plans across teams, ensuring alignment at every stage
  • Proactively reinforce leadership direction by keeping projects, decisions, and communications tightly connected to established goals
  • Serve as a trusted extension of the Director by maintaining consistency in messaging, priorities, and execution standards
  • Anticipate needs and remove obstacles to keep initiatives moving in step with leadership expectations
  • Drive accountability by ensuring teams deliver outcomes that reflect the broader engineering vision
  • Provide structured updates and insights that keep the Director informed, confident, and able to make timely decisions
  • Champion a culture of alignment, where team efforts consistently support overarching organizational objectives
  • Operationalize high-level direction into scalable processes, ensuring continuity and clarity across engineering functions
  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of all types of mechanical equipment such as chillers, boilers, water softeners, and refrigeration equipment.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems, maintenance of records of power, water and fuel consumption.
  • Must have experience in office procedures, ordering materials, securing bids, city codes and other applicable building laws, building construction, blueprint reading, etc.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state and local laws
  • Must have excellent communication skills. Must be able to receive instructions and make reports with accuracy.
  • Must show basic computer proficiency such as with MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)
  • Must be knowledgeable about applicable laws regarding the operation of hotels and restaurants.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
  • 2000 hours of supervised work experience in HVAC / Refrigeration
  • 06A specialty electrician's license
  • Boiler operator grade V
  • Experience with Johnson Controls Metasys and/or 410 Metasys Basic Operator, Metasys Tech Program/Advanced Technician
  • Other maintenance certifications
