Service Engineer, PSO, Amazon Prime Air

Amazon Prime Air (PA) seeks a Product Support Engineering (PSO) Service Engineer to drive integration with Amazon fulfillment networks and investigate issues to improve reliability within our ultra‑fast drone delivery operations. The role ensures a high degree of technical reliability, collaborates with design engineering staff, and powers continuous improvement of the drone system.

• Investigate drone system performance for anomalies and deliver solutions to operations and maintenance teams.
• Lead cross‑functional system investigations with engineering, maintenance, and operations to optimize drone performance metrics and drive improvements.
• Develop innovative hardware designs for emerging drone systems and enhance existing hardware to improve performance and customer experience.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using data‑driven insights to establish benchmark standards and reduce operational burdens.
• Work with Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality organizations, and vendors to ensure a smooth product launch and sustainment.
• Develop and maintain documentation for technical procedures.
• Communicate effectively across all organizational levels, presenting strategies and results to senior leadership and operational partners.

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• 4+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or related fields.
• Experience designing complex mechanical products and equipment at volume.
• Strong cross‑functional engineering fundamentals (mechanical, electrical, software development basics).
• Excellent technical communication and documentation skills.

• Master's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.
• Experience in a fast‑paced, highly cross‑functional organization.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts using clear, simple language and visuals.
• Hands‑on experience crafting proof‑of‑concept models and prototypes.
• Experience with full product lifecycle and meeting milestones.
• Proficiency in CATIA or similar CAD, understanding best practices for part design, advanced assemblies, and complex configuration management.
• Experience in the design, testing, and sustaining of mechanical equipment.
