This role is part of the Blue Origin Engines business unit, where our focus is the design, development, manufacturing, and testing of engines and propulsion systems. Built for multiple uses, our family of engines is powering the next generation of rockets for commercial, civil, national security, and human spaceflight.

As part of our hardworking team of spacecraft development engineers, you will focus on the rotating hardware of our innovative space vehicles, specifically being responsible for power unit design and modeling for large-scale turbo machinery. This position is integral to the success of our missions, requiring strong familiarity with system integration and  this role, you will emphasize production rate, cost and schedule execution, while embracing, using, and integrating AI into your daily work culture and actions.

* Travel expected up to 20% of the time
** Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
*** Responsible for system integrated structural modeling for rotating equipment, power unit and axisymmetric models.
* Contribute to the design and development of rocket engine turbo pumps and assemblies
* Develop and maintain design component requirements and documentation.
* Contribute to detailed trade studies that result in selecting optimal mission-suitable subsystem hardware.
* Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues with the system components.
* Continuously update knowledge on latest industry trends and advancements in space vehicle systems
* Collaborate effectively with cross-disciplinary engineering teams, contributing to a culture of technical ambition and operational excellence.
* Contribute to technical artifacts for subsystem and program gated reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, MRR, TRR, etc.)
* Maintain an unwavering commitment to learning and improvement, willingly seeking and integrating feedback for personal and team growth.
** Minimum Qualifications
*** Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
* Minimum of two years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in space systems
* Experience working in cross-disciplinary engineering teams.
* A track record of taking ownership, showing resilience in the face of challenges, and consistently delivering results.
* A history of facing challenges with tenacity and resilience, showing an optimistic and determined attitude.
* Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
** Preferred Qualifications
*** M.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
* 5+ years of relevant industry experience
* Experience working in aerospace
