Key job responsibilities
- Ensure the MOTO waste program evolves to meet changing organizational needs, stakeholder expectations, and environmental challenges.
- Support leadership efforts and contribute to continuous improvement of the waste management program.
- Champion environmental responsibility within MOTO and advocate for best‑in‑class waste practices across manufacturing sites.
- Collaborate with environmental, operations, manufacturing execution, legal, policy, and sustainability teams to perform periodic reviews and updates.
- Ensure the waste program remains relevant, effective, and aligned with evolving regulatory requirements across all MOTO facilities.
- Build collaborative relationships with manufacturing execution, operations, and design teams to identify and manage waste risks early.
- Support the identification and assessment of environmental risks across the full MOTO lifecycle (equipment development, facility buildout, operations, and decommissioning).
- Help develop and implement plans to address significant environmental risks and opportunities, contributing to improvement targets.
- Develop new compliance programs for first‑of‑a‑kind manufacturing processes that generate novel waste streams.
- Support the design and deployment of the MOTO waste program to enhance environmental performance and drive circular economy initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements for waste management across manufacturing facilities.
- Support environmental development training and awareness programs to embed waste management skills throughout the organization.
- Establish and manage a robust system for monitoring, measuring, and reporting performance of the MOTO waste program.
- Conduct regular assessments of waste‑related tools and processes, collate and analyze waste data to identify trends, gaps, and improvement areas.
- Develop environmental metrics to measure, monitor, and forecast waste performance across MOTO facilities.
- Conduct thorough and accurate environmental audits for continuous improvement.
- Prepare and contribute to performance reports and recommendations for senior leadership on a regular cadence.
- Support management reviews, implement corrective and preventative actions, and identify innovative approaches to improve environmental performance.
- Investigate environmental incidents related to waste and develop appropriate corrective actions.
- Assist in time‑critical report submissions to governmental agencies as required.
- Knowledge of best practices and emerging technologies related to infrastructure (network, data center, hardware, software).
- Experience with varying scenarios of infrastructure builds.
- Bachelor’s degree in safety, environmental science, or equivalent.
- Experience developing and implementing environmental compliance programs (regulated waste, water, and air) in accordance with applicable laws.
- Experience with increasing responsibilities in safety and/or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations.
- Experience in manufacturing, process, or industrial engineering.
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience leading change in multiple site environments and influencing stakeholders not in direct reports.
- 5+ years focused on waste program development, deployment, implementation, and verification.
- Experience with safety and environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations.
- Experience in manufacturing, process, or industrial engineering.
