Summer Environmental Intern

Apex is hiring a Summer Environmental Intern to be based in Seattle, WA. This is an excellent opportunity for a current undergraduate student looking to gain hands‑on experience in environmental consulting while working alongside a team of experienced engineers, scientists, and environmental professionals. You'll have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects that support environmental compliance, sustainability, and community development throughout the Pacific Northwest.

• Assist with environmental field sampling activities, including collection of soil, groundwater, surface water, stormwater, wastewater, and air samples
• Support environmental compliance inspections and site audits
• Support fish exclusion and salvage
• Support tree and vegetation surveyefforts
• Assist with data entry, analysis, and preparation of technical reports
• Help prepare environmental management plans related to stormwater, spill prevention, and waste management programs
• Support environmental permitting and regulatory compliance efforts
• Assist project teams with environmental investigations, remediation, and restoration projects
• Conduct research on environmental regulations and best management practices (BMPs)
• Participate in safety meetings, field activities, and project planning efforts
• Travel to project sites throughout Washington as needed
• Represent Apex in a safe, professional, and positive manner

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology, Earth Sciences, Natural Resources, or a related field
• Strong interest in environmental consulting, compliance, remediation, or sustainability
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites
• Previouscoursework, field studies, research, or internship experience is a plus

Hourly Expected Pay Range: $23 — $26 USD
