Are you passionate about building capability and fostering continuous improvement? Join King County Wastewater as a Capital Programs Learning & Development Specialist, where you'll play a vital role in preparing our workforce and elevating project excellence across the Division.
This recruitment aims to fill a Term-Limited Temporary (TLT) position with an anticipated duration of 3 years. If the position is filled by a King County employee who has successfully completed their initial probation, they will be offered the role as a Special Duty Assignment.
About the Role:
As WTD's Capital Programs Learning & Development Specialist, you'll prepare Wastewater's workforce by building and supporting training programs that elevate project excellence and foster continuous learning. You'll play a vital role in ensuring capital project staff have the knowledge, preparation, and skills they need to succeed. Through engaging training delivery, thoughtful program coordination, and facilitating knowledge sharing, you'll help create a culture where learning is valued, teams continuously improve, and the quality, cadence, and equity of capital delivery is optimized.
Your work will directly impact workforce readiness, project outcomes, and organizational capability across the Wastewater capital program.
This position follows a hybrid work model, blending remote and in-person work.

You will have the unique opportunity to work with across all wastewater work groups and lines of business to help shape how we as a utility adapt and respond to changing regulations and build infrastructure for future generations.
You will be a key part of one of King County's largest, most complex capital programs with a variety of interesting, challenging, and critical projects. You will be supporting the growth and strategic development of the largest capital program in King County with projects and programs stretching across 2200 square miles.
