Position Overview
Make a difference. As a Technical Specialist - Industrial Automation, you will support the sales of high‑tech automation and control products and work with branch personnel to identify opportunities for products to satisfy customer needs.
Key Responsibilities- Specify products to meet customer requirements and needs.
- Recommend inventory of automation products.
- Inform sales staff and customers of new developments in automation and related product technology.
- Provide technical services to customers for the operation and maintenance of automation equipment.
- Provide technical support of automation and control products to customers and Company personnel and new product updates.
- Minimum 1 year of progressively more responsible sales, marketing, and/or field experience.
- 4+ years experience preferred.
- Two-year degree required:
Technical college or equivalent. - Knowledge of high‑tech automation and control products and engineering principles related to customer automation products.
- Knowledge of operations, sales, and information systems processes.
- Oral and written communication skills.
- Interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with management and evaluate customer needs.
- Organizational and team building skills.
- Ability to make oral and written presentations to internal and external contacts and clearly present complex solutions to non‑technical staff.
Starting salary of $73,000 annually, depending on experience. Bonus eligible based on specific business metrics.
TravelExtensive travel required. Position may require use of personal vehicle for business purposes. Graybar offers a Fixed and Variable Rate (FAVR) reimbursement program.
