- Lead the continued performance and growth of the Pacific Northwest Highway/Bridge design team under the direction of the West Region Highway/Bridge Design Practice Leader.
- Lead client service and project delivery in the PNW/Washington market, overseeing design staff, managing resources and budgets, and providing technical and project oversight.
- Direct daily operations and financial outcomes of the PNW highway/bridge group, support the region’s growth strategy by developing and implementing business plans.
- Analyze all technical aspects of roadway/highway engineering, identifying issues and applying suitable solutions.
- Review construction plans, design calculations, specifications, cost estimates to ensure completeness, accuracy, constructability, and conformity to local standards or best engineering practices.
- Prepare project reports and feasibility studies; lead meetings and interface with Lochner’s clients.
- Develop project schedules, scope and budget, and perform quality assurance and control through the development and review of construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Lead teams with strong leadership potential and soft skills, working well with staff at all levels.
- Help develop the civil transportation vision and support business plans to drive the region's growth.
- Work closely with Marketing Manager to develop and implement local marketing and growth strategies.
- Represent the firm at client meetings, industry events, and other business functions; develop relationships with local leaders from key teaming partner firms and professional organizations.
- Schedule periodic meetings with key client personnel in coordination with PMs, staff and other members of leadership.
- Support development of office‑level action plans to support the regional business plan; encourage analysis for growth in an area or discipline.
- Enforce compliance with company expectations for staff utilization and implement corrective action plans when necessary.
- Resolve high‑level operational concerns or problems promptly; take actionable steps to remediate impacts and enhance performance.
- Assess talent needs and support team recruiting efforts to align with growth strategy.
- Assist with profitability of the Seattle office and associated projects.
- Measure and monitor budget and operational performance and communicate key metrics and information regularly to the leadership team.
- Maintain defined level of chargeability where possible, in agreement with regional leadership.
- Support teaming and maintain client communication in coordination with other offices to assure satisfactory client experience and QA/QC procedures.
- Oversee succession plans and develop defined successors across the team; perform honest and candid performance evaluations of direct reports.
- Recommend salary increases for subordinate staff for approval by leadership.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and corporate policies.
- Maintain effective communication within the region through regular meetings and written communications.
- Drive growth of the business regionally to support Lochner’s nationwide strategies and plans.
- Leverage entrepreneurial approach to refresh local strategy and position the business for success.
- Build technical and civil transportation capabilities to secure current business and penetrate new markets.
- Stabilize the business, reinvigorate culture, engage and inspire the team, and promote sustainable growth through recruitment, retention and professional development.

- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Civil Engineering License in Washington.
- Minimum 15 years of diversified experience in civil engineering, with expertise in transportation infrastructure.
