Position Overview

Silvus is seeking a full‑time RF Test Engineer who will report to the Director of RF Engineering on the RF Engineering team. The role is 100% onsite Monday through Friday, located in Rancho Bernardo, North San Diego, CA.

Key Responsibilities
  • Use RF test equipment to evaluate system performance, compliance, and troubleshoot operational issues.
  • Carry out RF test execution and generate status and test reports.
  • Define verification matrix and internal specifications of RF performance.
  • Review test result data to ensure that actual performance meets expected requirements.
  • Review and recommend improvements to existing test strategies.
  • Recommend new test techniques and technologies to ensure system performance.
  • Design test fixtures and calibrate test equipment.
  • Properly use and handle sensitive RF circuits and equipment.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 2 years of multi‑GHz RF hardware test experience.
  • Hands‑on experience with RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, vector network analyzer, etc.
  • Experience with component‑level RF circuit characterization and optimization.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to provide a clear summary of test status and any issues to the broader team.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of RF guidelines for PCB layout.
  • Test automation using Python or Lab View.
  • Excellent bench skills.
  • Ability to work independently and simultaneously on several projects.
  • Self‑motivated with a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
  • Detail‑oriented and committed to quality.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Problem‑solving, data analysis, deductive reasoning, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
