Amazon Web Services (AWS) Hardware Engineering is a leading‑edge product development team that creates enterprise compute and storage server designs for our innovative web service and e-commerce technology platforms. We are seeking experienced Thermal/Mechanical Engineers to build the next generation of our cloud platforms. This role focuses on the design of our server platforms, leading the application of new cooling and mechanical technologies, delivering world‑class customer experience, and driving efficiency and cost savings.
Key Responsibilities- Perform mechanical and thermal design and development for complex electronic systems.
- Design and validate systems and subsystems to meet program objectives.
- Participate in the cross‑discipline design process with other HW and SW team members to develop optimized integrated solutions.
- Conduct failure analysis and solution validation for product development and fleet systems.
- Manage interaction with overseas resources.
- Provide mentorship and technical reviews to a team of mechanical/thermal design engineers.
The average week involves using engineering tools such as CAD and thermal simulation, data analysis, meetings (internal and vendors), test report reviews, design reviews, and communicating via tickets or emails to make design and project decisions.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- 7 years experience in thermal and mechanical design of server technologies or equivalent.
- Master's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
