Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Lead the implementation of project-specific VDC Project Execution Plans (PxP) and VDC implementation strategies.
  • Coordinate and manage Architectural, MEPTF, Structural, Civil, Specialty, and Site model components.
  • Ensure model accuracy, reliability, and adherence to project standards.
  • Manage information flow, issue tracking, and resolution using VDC workflows.
  • Assist the VDC Manager with quality assurance reviews of project models and VDC deliverables.
  • Support onboarding and mentoring of VDC Engineers on assigned projects.
  • Lead constructability and coordination reviews during design and preconstruction phases.
  • Support estimating teams in the use of models for quantity takeoffs, visualization, and communication.
  • Develop site logistics and site utilization plans in coordination with project teams.
  • Generate BIM coordination schedules aligned with project milestones and field activities.
  • Facilitate and/or run coordination meetings with design teams and trade partners.
  • Identify clashes, gaps, and constructability issues; recommend solutions and support RFI development.
  • Coordinate documentation of existing conditions via as-builts and/or laser scanning.
  • Maintain and update federated models throughout construction and promote field use of models.
  • Track and document design conflicts, scope changes, and VDC-related metrics.
  • QC architectural model for use in clash detection and problem solving.
  • Coordinate drawings between architectural, structural, MEPTF, and framing scopes.
  • Generate and/or oversee production of:
    Concrete shop drawings, Penetration plans, & Framing overlays
  • Train project team members in VDC workflows and model viewing tools.
  • Support project teams with 3D shop drawing clash to final sign off.
  • Support office and field teams with ongoing VDC needs.
What you need to be successful in this role:
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of commercial construction experience, including at least 5 years in project engineering, field engineering, or superintendence and 5 years in Virtual Design & Construction (VDC)/Building Information Modeling (BIM) within a general contracting or design-build environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in commercial construction means, methods, sequencing, and constructability, with the ability to apply VDC solutions to improve project outcomes.
  • Advanced proficiency with:
    Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, BIM
    360 / ACC
  • Solid understanding of construction documents, building science, and model-based coordination.
  • Experience leading coordination efforts with multiple trade partners.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines across projects.
  • Professional presence with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
