Role Overview

This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single‑configuration, heavy‑lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low‑Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. New Glenn features a fully reusable first stage and a seven‑meter payload fairing, and is designed from the beginning to be human‑capable. The System Engineering Lead will work across subsystems and support integrated solutions to achieve our vision of millions of people living and working in space by applying system engineering practices across subject areas.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement system engineering processes for the program, ensuring consistent application across all program tiers.
  • Serve in a system integration capacity, working with multi‑discipline teams to arrive at technical system solutions.
  • Support requirements definition, validation, and verification at all levels of the program using tools such as DOORSNextGen, system lifecycle configuration management tools, and other functional analysis toolsets.
  • Conduct requirements analysis and traceability, functional analysis, systems analysis, safety analysis, and technical performance monitoring.
  • Plan and coordinate verification, develop verification plans, execute verification plans, produce verification closure notices, and develop health metrics for program health and milestone tracking.
  • Participate in gated reviews and develop metrics to support insight into program health.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • B.S. degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial Engineering, or a similar technical field.
  • At least 2years of experience with system engineering principles and processes throughout various phases of the design lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with requirements management tools.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation and diagrams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in an engineering discipline, particularly Mechanical, Aerospace, or Materials.
  • Knowledge of launch vehicle design and requirements.
  • Experience with qualification of electro‑mechanical hardware.
  • System development or integration experience, preferably with aerospace hardware.
  • High proficiency in systems engineering practices and rightsizing for rapid development programs.
  • Advanced experience with verification planning, coordination of verification evidence, and delivery of verification closure notices.
  • Experience with systems engineering tools such as DOORSNextGen.
  • Experience with project planning and implementation.
Compensation

Base Pay Range for Washington applicants: $99,201.00–$. Other site ranges may differ.

Export Control Regulations

All positions require a standard background check. Certain job profiles may require Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) checks, commercial motor vehicle driver checks, or merchant mariner credential verification.
