Huitt-Zollars has a great full-time opportunity for a Senior Architect Project Manager – Transportation Facilities with 10+ years of experience in the design and management of transportation and transit facilities, including operations and maintenance facilities, storage facilities, administrative buildings, passenger facilities, and other supporting transportation infrastructure. This position will be based in Seattle, WA and will support transportation projects and pursuits nationally.
The successful candidate will be a Registered Architect licensed in the State of Washington with demonstrated experience managing complex transportation facility projects leading multi-disciplinary teams and supporting business development and pursuit efforts. This individual should be a seller-doer with strong technical credibility and good industry relationship.

Duties:
- Function as a Senior Architect and Project Manager on transportation-related facility projects, with an emphasis on operation and maintenance (O&M) facilities.
- Develop, oversee, and monitor project activities including scope, budget, schedule, staffing, quality, and client coordination.
- Manage project staff, including architects, engineers, designers, drafters, and subconsultants, to execute work associated with project scope, schedule, and budget.
- Lead or support transportation pursuits, interviews, and proposal development efforts and engage with clients through industry events.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or a relevant area of work required.
- Registered Architect licensed in the State of Washington required.
- Excellent organizational, verbal, written, and graphic communication skills.
- Minimum 10+ years of relevant project management, facilities design, or complex infrastructure experience after obtaining the professional degree.
- Demonstrated experience serving as the Registered Architect and Project Manager on transportation-related facility projects, specifically the operations and maintenance (O&M) facilities, is required.
- Strong technical understanding of transportation facility planning, programming, design, construction, and operational requirements, particularly for transit and maintenance facilities.
- Experience coordinating multi-disciplinary teams, including architecture, civil, structural, MEP, electrical, industrial systems, and construction management.
- Experience with business development of transportation facilities.
- Willingness to travel as needed to support clients and projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with facility systems such as MEP, power distribution, safety/security systems, industrial systems, vehicle wash, inspection pits, cranes/hoists, fleet support, resiliency, and related maintenance functions preferred.
- Experience with multiple delivery models such as CMAR, GCCM, Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, or Progressive Design-Build preferred.
- Zero-emission facility readiness experience, including charging infrastructure, power demand, utility coordination, or fleet transition planning, preferred.
- Established relationships with transit agencies, rail clients, public-sector owners, industry partners, consultants, contractors, and teaming partners preferred.
- Active participation in industry organizations such as APTA, AREMA, ACEC, WTS, or similar transportation, transit, rail, engineering, architecture, or facilities-related organizations
- Working knowledge of Revit, Bluebeam, Adobe Suite, AutoCAD, or other design/documentation tools preferred.
Senior Project Manager (SPM) Role Annual Performance Goals & Expectations:
- Having a deep understanding of how your work and contributions as a co-owner add to Huitt-Zollars' mission and core values.
- Maintaining expected Effective Labor Multiplier (ELM) on sum of all associated projects.
- Consistently upholds business processes including timely monthly A/R's, invoicing, timekeeping, resource forecasting, percent completes, etc.
- Achieves personal sales goal.
- Achieves stated target personal utilization goal for SPM.
- Understands, follows and ensures quality control measures and risk management measures are being applied and adhered to projects and daily operations.
