This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.
This role supports the production and upgrades of New Glenn, a single-configuration heavy-lift launch vehicle capable of carrying payloads to Earth’s orbit and beyond. Engineered with a reusable first stage and a seven-meter payload fairing, New Glenn is building the road to space.
As part of a small, hard-working, and accomplished team of experts you will lead the design, development, and test various spaceflight systems. You will share toward the team’s impact on all aspects of structures, mechanical, and fluid systems. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

Responsibilities:
Applies engineering techniques to design, install, modify, analyze, repair structural, mechanical, and fluid systems hardware.
Role will have a strong emphasis on supporting production activities.
Experience in 3D CAD programs (Creo preferred)
Experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools to analyze pressurized systems and primary/secondary structures (ANSYS preferred)
Specifically identifying available work and resolving roadblocks to facilitate production tasks.
Release, and support of engineering artifacts across the product life cycle to support hardware fabrication, assembly, verification, test and operations. Implements’ operating procedures, resolves system malfunctions, and provides technical information.
Specifies system components or directs modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
Lead Root Cause and Corrective action investigations into hardware failures to facilitate smooth production operations across the launch vehicle.
Minimum Qualifications:
B.S. degree or higher in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering Recent experience managing aerospace or equivalent type mechanical systems elements within aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicles. Candidates with various levels of experience are welcome to apply.
Strong mechanical design and integration skills using 3D modeling tools
Experience with GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
Knowledge of fabrication, integration processes, and quality control relative to tubes/piping and machined components
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
Preferred Qualifications:
2-4 years of recent experience managing aerospace or equivalent type mechanical systems elements within aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicles.
2+ years direct project management experience; including schedule, cost, risk, performance, change and configuration management, and supplier relations
Experience across the full product development lifecycle: concept definition, architecture, requirements capture and development, implementation, verification, system integration, qualification and release
Experience in primary flight control actuator design
Experience in aerospace hydraulic system component design or system architecture design
