At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We're working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!

This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin's Blue Moon landers and related products. To further Blue Origin's mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.

As part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team of engineers and technicians, you will lead hardware/software integration activities for the MK1 Lunar Lander, spanning avionics and software systems across multiple MK1 vehicle configurations. You will own integration scope from test objectives and test plans through execution, data analysis and closeout, leading campaigns in the Vehicle Test Bed (VTB). This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your commitment and detailed attention.

Join us in lowering the cost of access to space and enabling Blue Origin's vision of millions of people living and working in space to benefit Earth!

We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and dedication to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!

Because of the need for hands-on work, this position requires on-site work at Renton, WA.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Own hardware/software integration scope - define test objectives, test plans and performance criteria for assigned system level tests and interfaces

  • Lead integration activities for avionics, propulsion, electrical power system, and other vehicle subsystems within the MK1 integrated test environment

  • Plan and execute integration test campaigns in the VTB and SIL environments; own test readiness and campaign execution from start to closeout

  • Author and maintain test plans, test procedures, and test reports to program standards

  • Coordinate with avionics, software, and subsystem teams to define interface requirements and resolve integration anomalies

  • Track and disposition test discrepancies; drive root cause investigations and corrective actions to closure

  • Maintain configuration control of test artifacts and integration deliverables

  • Support development and continuous improvement of the VTB/HIL test infrastructure as needed to enable integration scope

Minimum Qualifications
  • B.S. degree in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, systems engineering, computer science, or related technical degree

  • 4+ years of experience in hardware/software integration and verification of complex avionics or embedded systems

  • Demonstrated experience authoring test plans, test procedures, and verification reports

  • Deep understanding of avionics architectures, software interfaces, and system-level HW/SW interaction

  • Proficiency with standard electronic lab test equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, data acquisition systems, etc.)

  • Strong problem investigation and anomaly resolution skills in an integrated lab environment

  • Solid understanding of configuration management principles

  • Ability to earn trust and maintain positive and professional relationships.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

Preferred Qualifications
  • M.S. degree in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, systems engineering, computer science, or related technical degree

  • Experience with HIL and/or SIL test environments for avionics verification

  • Experience integrating propulsion or engine control systems in an integrated lab environment

  • Experience with mechanism or deployable system integration and test

  • Experience as a scope owner or test lead on a development spaceflight program
