As a Senior Hydrogeologist, you will play a key role in managing a variety of complex and rewarding projects, including groundwater supply investigations, groundwater control assessments, aquifer testing and analysis, stormwater infiltration assessments, groundwater flow modeling, and hydrogeologic/hydrologic analysis. Responsibilities include planning and overseeing hydrogeologic field investigations, leading technical discussions with field staff, and managing project tasks such as budgeting, scheduling, and client communications.

You will conduct and supervise hydrogeologic analyses and groundwater modeling, prepare technical reports, and perform site visits to support data collection and field oversight. As a senior team member, you will also be responsible for mentoring junior staff and providing technical leadership across project teams and lead business-development activities such as identifying potential new clients, attending conferences or professional association meetings, and assisting with proposal development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leads all project management tasks such as developing budgets and scopes, client billings, field report reviews, contract reviews, and proposal development. Partners with Principals and Associates to ensure effective execution of multiple projects.
  • Serves as a technical resource for clients and project staff; provides guidance and expertise to solve complex challenges.
  • Develops complete and accurate field reports, figures, tables, etc., that require minimal edits or revisions.
  • Reviews deliverables from staff and mid-level employees such as field reports, calculations, analyses, etc. Mentors junior staff relative to technical skills, consulting best practices, etc.
  • Leads business-development activities such as identifying potential new clients, attending conferences or professional association meetings, etc.
  • Leads and/or coordinates the development and implementation of field exploration programs and construction projects. Ensures that work performed is consistent with project plans and specifications and in accordance with safety guidelines.
  • Develops complex conceptual models (i.e. numerical modeling, hydraulic/hydrologic modeling, etc.).
  • Much of the work will emphasize groundwater supply investigations, groundwater control assessments, aquifer testing and analysis, groundwater flow modeling, statistical analysis, and hydrogeologic/hydrologic analysis.
  • Professional-level verbal and written communication skills.
  • Develop plans, specifications, and cost estimates for a variety of water resource and groundwater management projects.
  • Complete complex hydrogeologic analyses and calculations.
  • Coordinate projects from start to finish including field data collection.
  • Presentation of project concepts, findings and recommendations to clients, owners and regulatory agencies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience required.
  • Licensed as a LHG or PG/LG.
  • Experience with Northwestern U.S. groundwater resources, geology and water rights.
  • Experience with design and installation of water supply wells.
  • Experience managing aquifer recharge is preferred.
  • Experience with groundwater control assessments and system design and implementation for development, industrial, and water/wastewater projects.
  • Groundwater modeling and mounding analyses experience
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • One year of driving experience in the United States. Consideration will be provided for international driving experience..

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

  • Ability to perform a wide range of physical activities and do heavy work including exerting up to 50 pounds of force on occasion.
