At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We're working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!

This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.

As part of a passionate and accomplished team, you will provide critical engineering support to transition our current avionics designs into rate production. This hands-on, fixed-term role is focused on resolving manufacturing challenges, improving build processes, and working directly with our production team to successfully ramp up the manufacturing of New Glenn's flight hardware. Your efforts will be essential in scaling our production capabilities while maintaining the highest standards of quality and reliability.

We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise and problem-solving skills to help us build the road to space. Passion for our mission and a desire to see designs become reality at scale is required!

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary engineering point of contact for the production floor, addressing real-time questions and challenges related to avionics builds.
  • Facilitate the transition of development hardware into production, working closely with the Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) organization.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform root cause analysis on production test failures, component issues, and assembly discrepancies.
  • Identify opportunities for design and process improvements to increase manufacturability (DFM), yield, and production rate.
  • Review and update work instructions, test procedures, and design documentation to reflect production realities and improvements.
  • Support supplier quality and component engineering teams in resolving issues with incoming material.
  • Help maintain hardware configuration and traceability through the production process to support quality audits.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a B.S. in Electrical, Computer, or Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in an electronics manufacturing, test, or design environment.
  • Direct, hands-on experience with the fabrication, assembly, and test of complex electronic assemblies (PCBA/LRU).
  • Familiarity with Class 2/3 PCB fabrication, assembly standards (e.g., J-STD-001, IPC-A-610), and DFX principles.
  • A passion for hands-on problem solving and a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to read schematics and PCB layouts to aid in troubleshooting.
Desired:
  • Experience in an aerospace or other high-reliability production environment.
  • Experience with automated test equipment and developing test scripts (Python, LabVIEW, etc.).
  • Experience working directly with suppliers and contract manufacturers.
  • Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) and manufacturing execution systems (MES).
