Leidos is seeking a Senior Distribution Engineer to lead design and analysis of power distribution systems supporting critical infrastructure and IT-driven environments. You will own complex projects from concept through delivery, developing detailed models, calculations, and construction-ready documents while ensuring safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance. Partnering with multidisciplinary teams, you'll integrate digital tools, analytics, and cybersecurity-minded practices, mentor junior engineers, support proposals, and help evolve engineering standards that advance mission-critical national security and infrastructure programs.

Responsibilities

  • Design and analyze electric power distribution systems for critical infrastructure and utility clients.
  • Develop engineering calculations, models, and technical documentation using industry software tools.
  • Lead project planning, scope definition, and technical execution for distribution engineering projects.
  • Ensure designs meet safety, reliability, regulatory, and cybersecurity requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional IT, systems engineering, and field teams to integrate distribution solutions.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and studies prepared by junior engineers and vendors.
  • Support proposal development, cost estimates, and technical reports for new opportunities.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and quality assurance for engineering deliverables.
  • Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and regulators to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering standards, tools, and best practices.
