We are seeking an experienced Arc Flash Specialist to lead power system studies and arc flash analysis for commercial and industrial clients across Washington State. This role owns project delivery from field survey and data collection to final report, working closely with clients, engineers, and field teams to deliver safe, code-complaint electrical systems.

This is position is deal for someone with a strong electrical background (whether in the field or engineering) who enjoys a mix of hands‑on field work and technical analysis. This position is located remotely within Washington state and includes occasional travel to client and project sites in WA.

Requirements
  • Prepare electrical studies including short-circuit analysis, protective device coordination, grounding, and arc flash analysis in accordance with NFPA 70E and IEEE 1584.
  • Develop and maintain electrical system models in SKM and ETAP.
  • Interpret analysis results and make appropriate engineering recommendations.
  • Write clear, concise technical reports summarizing methodologies and results from electrical model analysis.
  • Manage project teams across multiple concurrent assignments, ensuring workload balance and on‑time delivery.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle, building and maintaining strong working relationships.
  • Apply electrical engineering knowledge to create electrical studies, produce detailed design drawings, and evaluate existing electrical equipment.
  • Utilize working knowledge of the NEC and other applicable industry standards to support design and analysis work.
  • Develop practical engineering solutions to improve system safety, reliability, performance, and code compliance.
  • Participate in electrical field surveys to gather information for electrical model creation.
  • Conduct site visits and field inspections as required across Washington State.
  • Lead and mentor junior engineers and project staff, providing technical guidance and quality oversight on arc flash and power systems deliverables.
  • Support project planning, scheduling, and progress monitoring to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, clients, and contractors to support successful project execution.
  • Maintain accurate project records, documentation, and deliverables per company and client requirements.
  • Prepare technical reports, calculations, drawings, and documentation summarizing engineering recommendations.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and resolving technical issues during design, construction, or operational phases.
  • Work independently and collaboratively while managing multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Contribute to a safe working environment and follow company health, safety, and quality procedures.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of electrical experience (field, design, commissioning, or studies). Background as a Journeyman Electrician, Electrical Designer, or similar strongly preferred.
  • Hands‑on experience with arc flash, short‑circuit, and coordination studies
  • Familiarity with SKM, ETAP, or similar power system software
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 70E, IEEE 1584, and the NEC.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and one‑lines.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
  • Comfortable working in both field and office/remote environments
Background Check and Site Access
  • Candidate must successfully pass a background check, which may include verification of employment, education, and other records in accordance with state, local, and federal requirements.
  • A valid driver’s license must be possessed and maintained.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain access authorization for government and other secured facilities and sites is required.
