We are currently seeking a Metallurgical Engineer for our Metallurgical and Corrosion Engineering Practice in Seattle, WA
. In this role you will work as part of a team to conduct materials, metallurgical, and mechanical failure investigations, field inspections, and perform materials characterization and specialized testing.
- Conducting hands‑on failure analyses
- Materials characterization, metallurgical analysis
- Planning, coordinating, and executing laboratory testing
- Conducting field inspections
- Effective presentation of results to technical and non‑technical clients and staff
- Communicating effectively with other engineers, technicians, managers, clients, and administrative staff
- Ph.D. in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, and a familiarity with Mechanical Engineering
- Strong background in materials characterization techniques (e.g. metallography, SEM, EDS, FIB, and/or X‑ray radiography/diffraction, etc.) is required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work within project teams with a strong desire to contribute to the team
- Knowledge of failure analysis desired
- Presently legally authorized to work in the US, no immigration sponsorship or visa processing required
