About the RoleThe AV Systems Estimator/Engineer interfaces with internal engineering, installation staff, and customers at the job site. This role supports AV systems from inception to completion, beginning with customer needs analysis, pre-engineering, estimating, proposal writing, and submission.
This position supports solutions that may include simple conference rooms, multi-room systems, training rooms, board rooms, background music systems, and huddle spaces. The role requires a strong mix of technical AV knowledge, estimating discipline, communication, organization, and customer service.
- Rapidly learn and adapt to emerging technologies relevant to AV system design and integration
- Create and maintain accurate, organized project documentation
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of technical control systems and networking protocols
- Possess working knowledge of TCP/IP network infrastructure, including routing, switching, and wireless communication
- Interpret and apply information from blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams
- Use standard software tools for configuring DSPs and AV switchers effectively
- Design and develop fully integrated AV systems that meet project requirements
- Produce AV systems estimates at multiple stages of development, including rough order of magnitude, design-build, and hard specification estimates
- Support bid analysis and actively contribute to bid reviews and proposal preparation
- Apply proactive problem-solving skills by identifying issues early and resolving them efficiently to maintain project momentum
- Advance your technical expertise through continuous learning, training, and hands‑on development
- Communicate effectively and professionally, whether delivering written reports or engaging in team or client discussions
- Foster a collaborative team culture, contributing positively and helping strengthen team morale and shared success
- Deliver responsive, courteous service by addressing customer needs with professionalism and follow‑through
