Accompanist

SUMMARY

Perform skilled work involving specialized musicianship in support of ballet classes. Classes include ballet technique, pointe classes, and pas de deux for all ages.

• Consistently offer creative and innovative musical repertoire for classes.
• Play piano at an advanced level.
• Sight reading and improvisational skills required.
• Thorough knowledge of piano repertoire.
• Broad knowledge of musical styles.
• Establish and maintain effective work relationships with students, faculty, and staff.
• Listen, respond, and adapt to faculty’s musical needs during class.
• Communicate orally and in writing.
• Represent PNB in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
• Work evenings and Saturdays in Seattle and/or Bellevue.

Occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. Must have ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include ability to distinguish the nature of objects by using the eye. May be required to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.

$31.00/hour – 34.50/hour;
Hourly, Non-exempt

PNB School is open 43 weeks/year; work hours up to 20/week

Travel is primarily local during the business day between the Seattle and Bellevue PNBS locations.

PNBS is open 6 days/week, Mon-Sat; hours M-F open 8am – 9pm; S open 8am – 5pm.

This position is eligible for limited benefits including participation in PNB’s 401k plan and accrual of sick time consistent with City of Seattle and State or WA leave laws.
