Responsibilities

Salary: $22.66 per hour.

Ensure the appropriate number of cars are kept on location throughout the shift, that cars are parked correctly and the lot remains clean and presentable.

  • Direct incoming customers to available parking spaces.
  • Count vehicles on location throughout shift, as needed.
  • Write and issue violation warnings to tenants and visitors that violate garage policies.
  • Patrol transient and reserved parking levels on foot or in customized motor carts, if applicable.
  • Assist customers who have forgotten where they parked their vehicle.
  • Be at work every scheduled day, on time and in uniform.
  • Courteously assist customers by answering any questions they may have, directing them to the Facility Manager when necessary.
  • Control traffic at entrances and exits as needed.
  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of parking equipment and general maintenance tasks as directed by the Facility Manager.
  • Report accidents, violations, safety hazards or any unusual occurrences to the Facility Manager.
  • Communicate debris, water, oil spills, etc., to the garage office.
  • Substitute for valets when authorized.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of all areas of the garage, major streets, landmarks and freeways in the area.
  • Assist the Facility Manager with other duties as needed.
Qualifications

  • Education/

    Experience:

    Less than high school education or one month of related experience, training, or an equivalent combination.
  • License: A valid state‑issued driver’s license if required to drive a company vehicle or travel on company business.
  • Shift Availability: 2nd shift, 3rd shift and/or weekends may be required depending on location.
  • Language

    Skills:

    Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence; present information in one‑on‑one situations to customers and employees.
  • Mathematical

    Skills:

    Add, subtract two‑digit numbers, and multiply and divide by tens and hundreds, using U.S. money units.
  • Appearance:
    Maintain a neat and clean appearance and be in uniform at all times.
  • Physical Demands:
    Stand, walk, use hands to handle cash and equipment; walk with occasional climbing or balancing; lift or move up to 25 pounds.
