Overview

If so, you can play a key role in Laird Norton’s financial organization as it re-deploys a substantial amount of its capital into new investments.

You will contribute by maintaining the alignment of plans and key financial projection models to the Company’s strategy and investment activity. You will also be responsible for generating fact-based reporting narratives for the Company’s major investments and overall performance. Laird Norton prioritizes its teams’ professional development, and would encourage your use of the latest technology and tools to continuously improve its Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A).

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) will report to the CFO and play a critical role in supporting the leadership of Laird Norton in managing its overall portfolio and reporting on results to its management, board and family members.

Financial Planning and Forecasting

  • Maintain parent-level long-term forecast model that projects P&L, cash flows, valuation & returns
  • Quarterly updates to real estate portfolio model to support Laird Norton Properties (LNP) leadership and LNC financial planning
  • Perform scenario analysis of subsidiary forecasts for LNC leadership

Financial Analysis and Reporting

  • Provide commentary and analysis of financial results in monthly, quarterly and annual reporting
  • Own and continue to improve treasury dashboards and reporting tools for LNC Senior Leadership
  • Assist in the preparation and coordination of materials and reporting to the LNC Board

Supporting Broader Financial Management and Other Projects

  • Lead projects to continuously improve financial process and deploy new tools & technology
  • Support the management of the corporate treasury and other alternative investments. The alternative investments include private credit, hedge funds, private equity and other alternative strategies.
  • Provide analytical support to enterprise-wide insurance renewals and related risk management activity
  • Support economic analysis of employee benefits, including trends for a captive medical benefits plan
  • Ad hoc projects to support financial leadership as assigned

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Able to successfully work in a team-oriented environment and partner with internal colleagues, external partners, and cross-functional groups
  • Meaningful experience with financial modeling, budgeting and long-term strategic planning
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Educational & Professional Experience Requirements

  • 4-7 years minimum experience in related finance & accounting roles
  • Experience in real estate and familiarity with Yardi and Kardin preferred
  • Experience in treasury operations and/or cash management a plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate or related field; MBA preferred
