About this Role

The Impact Investment Analyst at Laird Norton Wetherby is a pivotal role within the 10‑person Investment Team. This position is dedicated to supporting the Chief Impact Officer and the Chief Investment Officer among others, combining investment research with asset allocation and risk management. The analyst will engage in researching private impact investment strategies and underwrite initiatives focused on impact‑first, catalytic investment strategies.

The role requires maintaining strong industry relationships while contributing significantly to portfolio management, risk management, and client engagement processes.

Responsibilities
  • Source and lead diligence of impact private investment strategies new to portfolios.
  • Conduct timely searches and due diligence for investment strategies.
  • Analyze qualitative and quantitative aspects of investment firms’ strategies.
  • Evaluate private capital managers’ integration of ESG considerations.
  • Present investment recommendations to the PMIC.
  • Build and maintain relationships within the impact investing industry.
  • Monitor macroeconomic trends and asset class metrics.
  • Provide quarterly reviews on investment performance.
  • Participate in client meetings and create investment‑related communications.
Requirements
  • At least 7 years of experience in private capital markets and impact investing.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and social skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and take ownership of tasks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Morningstar Direct, Bloomberg is a plus.
  • Strong computing skills; familiarity with programming languages is advantageous.
  • Higher degree such as an MBA or CFA program participation is a plus.
