Job Summary

This role leads and owns the Seattle market with entrepreneurial autonomy to set and execute a growth strategy, drive client retention across segments, build and develop a high-performing team and winning culture, and contribute as a key member of the firm’s national Managing Partner group. The Managing Partner is the face of the firm in the market and is accountable for personal production, team success, and broader firm impact, including strategic initiatives, cultivating future leaders, and advancing Mercer’s growth objectives.

This role combines client advisory and business development with leadership and development of a wealth management team. As both a producer and a people leader, the Managing Partner drives organic growth by acquiring new clients, deepening key relationships, and coaching advisors to deliver an exceptional client experience.

Essential Job Functions
  • Design and execute growth strategies that drive sustainable new-client acquisition with a client-centric advisory model, including identifying new sales opportunities, expanding referral pipelines, and building scalable growth mechanisms aligned with the firm’s strategy.
  • Organize and mentor Wealth Management team in the region, including regularly scheduled regional and office meetings. Work with advisor team members to deliver client outcomes and provide feedback, coaching, and leadership to ensure client satisfaction and retention.
  • Attract, develop, and retain top talent by building a high-performance team culture that enables individual growth and long-term market success.
  • Collaborate with client development professionals to lead market growth through custodial referral channels, centers of influence, events, and marketing strategies.
  • Ensure adherence to compliance and regulatory policies as well as company standards of client care.
  • Identify and lead the cultural integration of acquired wealth management practices.
  • Act as a fiduciary, placing client interests and outcomes first.
  • Manage region for efficient utilization of resources, staffing, operating margins and workflows.
Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (preferably Business, Economics, Accounting or Finance related). Master’s degree a plus.
Experience
  • 15+ years of job-related experience.
Certifications/Licenses
  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation required. In lieu of the CFP, acceptable alternatives may include:
    Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), Personal Financial Specialist (PFS), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Chartered Investment Counselor (CIC).
  • Series 65 required, unless any of the above designations qualify for an exemption in applicable states.
Skills & Competencies
  • Advanced knowledge of the industry, financial products, and financial planning concepts.
  • Superior communication skills to present investment, finance, and tax planning solutions to clients.
  • Strong understanding of the economic landscape and its impact on the Firm and clients.
  • Experience using financial planning software.
  • Collaborative mindset with willingness to help others.
  • Sales aptitude and experience preferred.
