Seattle Central College is looking to hire a Budget Analyst in the Business Office.
Salary Range$68,016 to $89,232 annually (depending on experience).
Opportunity is open until filled; first review of materials will begin February 19th, 2026.
Position SummaryUnder the supervision of the Associate Director and Director of Budget and Business Office, the Budget Analyst (Fiscal Analyst
4) will be responsible for coordination and monitoring of special fund budgets. Review, process, and/or approve expenditure documents, transfer documents, capital project requests, and service the colleges for billing for Auxiliary Services and the Foundation and other contracts as needed. The position will also perform bookstore reconciliation and other reconciliations as directed. Manage and implement planning and project improvement efforts required by the college.
This position is full‑time, working 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, primarily 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
This position works a hybrid schedule of both remote and on‑site work.
This position is governed by a collective bargaining agreement with representation by WFSE.

What You Will Be Working On- Coordinate and monitor budget accounts for operating, contract, capital, and other budgets as assigned. Maintain detailed and accurate budget, financial and project records.
- Approve and set up appropriate budget accounts, and budget revisions, including proper and accurate budget coding, and input appropriate data in the financial system.
- Provide guidance to, and work collaboratively with, fiscal point employees in unit, divisional, and program offices in developing, establishing, and revising budgets; conducting cost estimates, projections, and forecasts across all major campus programs.
- Coordinate budget analysis for the colleges, budget and project managers for fee codes and contracts.
- Manage, lead and/or coordinate budget and finance projects as required by college leadership or initiatives.
- Prepare allocation of budgets and Certificates of Participation by college, by appropriation, and by fund type.
- Independently prepare budget status and analytical reports using Excel, Word, Access, and/or database reporting tools, including financial status reports to campus personnel on a periodic schedule.
- Respond to budget concerns from departments, research root cause of discrepancy and work with appropriate department to refine processes to prevent errors from upstream.
