Responsibilities:
* Own and oversee the reconciliation of payment transactions across payment providers, banks, and internal financial systems, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
* Manage reconciliations covering payments, refunds, chargebacks, and adjustments, ensuring discrepancies are identified and resolved efficiently
* Design and implement data integrity checks and automated reconciliation processes using scripting and data tools
* Develop automation solutions to streamline reconciliation workflows, reduce manual effort, and improve scalability
* Leverage APIs, integrations, and custom scripts to improve reconciliation accuracy and processing speed
* Perform advanced data analysis to monitor payment trends, identify discrepancies, and carry out root cause analysis
* Build and maintain automated, real-time reporting dashboards and KPIs for reconciliation performance
* Work closely with finance and technology teams to ensure seamless system integration and data flow
* Continuously improve reconciliation processes by identifying automation, system, and control enhancements
* Ensure reconciliation processes meet internal controls, audit standards, and compliance requirements
* Support internal and external audits, ensuring discrepancies are documented and resolved
* Lead and mentor a small team of reconciliation specialists, promoting automation, efficiency, and continuous improvement
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Data Science, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent advanced certifications
* Minimum 5 years' experience in payment reconciliation, financial operations, or data management
* At least 2 years' hands-on experience in process automation and scripting
* Strong understanding of payment systems, financial platforms, and reconciliation processes
* Proficiency in scripting and automation tools such as Python, SQL, VBA, or similar
* Experience with data management, ETL processes, database structures, and data validation techniques
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to investigate complex data discrepancies at a system level
* Experience building automated workflows for financial processes; RPA experience is a plus
* Advanced reporting and dashboarding skills using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Excel
* Familiarity with APIs and system integrations
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical insights to non-technical stakeholders
* High attention to detail and ability to manage large volumes of transaction data
